kinesics

KINESICS is Bianca Alexis’s latest project, examining the relationship between hands, gestures, and objects through a series of self portraits. The work draws inspiration from the women who shaped her world, focusing on acts of care, attention, and maintenance that often go unseen but remain essential to daily life.

The photographs center on manicured hands engaged in moments of nurturing and connection, referencing the quiet labor that sustains families and communities. Framed in vintage scale dimensions reminiscent of domestic interiors, the images evoke spaces shaped by history, routine, and presence rather than spectacle.

Each photograph reflects a balance between strength and restraint, highlighting the subtle artistry embedded in everyday gestures. The series functions as both an homage and a meditation, acknowledging the individuality, discipline, and grace required to navigate layered roles without performance.
